Day 139 - My Birthday

#2 wanted to play basketball. It was a beautiful day!! #3 copies whatvever his big brother does!!

Slam Dunk!

Can you see his tongue? It is a family trait. The tongue has to be in the perfect position for the shot to go in.

Letting it rest on his head helps!

They found a roly poly.

She was trying to pick it up with her scarf. #2 did not appreciate the help.

Getting closer.

Using the rock.

"Momma, why does he do that?" And yes, we are under Wallace's truck.

He started on the far side and army crawled all the way through.

He did great!

"Where did he go?"

I did not have an official birthday cake. #1 was concerned. She could not figure out how to surprise me with a cake. I surprise them with one and she was worried about mine. I told her that when we went out for "ice cream" with Nana and Pappy, that was my cake. That seemed to satisfy. Not 10 minutes later, my sweet friend and neighbor knocked on our door. She dropped off a birthday card and this chocolate chip banana bread. It was such a God thing. We stuck candles in it and the kids sang Happy Birthday. Thanks so much Erin!!

My man did not forget and was even early. It was all I could do NOT to open the package that came a day early. I pretended he did not send it to me. He FINALLY was able to call, so I opened my gift............a............Kindle. He was really thoughtful because he knows I love to read. Love you Babe!!!

Day 138 - Oh the joy

I had a small, red lump before our TN adventure. Once we returned, it was HUGE, painful and a nasty staph infection. The doc was soooo patient, compassionate, and right. The powerful drugs I was on encouraged me to eat yogurt. I am not wild about yogurt, it is a texture thing. So to force myself, I choose the best ones. These probably did not have the "stuff" I needed but oh well. Made me feel better.

Lesson learned: Get that lump checked BEFORE you go out of town despite how much work you still have to do to actually go out if town. Oh the joy!

Day 137 - TEE BALL!!!

I am not sure if you can tell, but he is a little nervous. He is trying to decide what to do. As an introvert, my heart goes out to him. I am SUPER proud of him. This was his first practice and he ran over to me only once. He is 4.5 yrs old on a 5-7 yr old team.

It didn't take long for him to warm up. Practice was a little unorganized. This is his coach's first year.

Each practice is getting better. His best bud is on the same team. That helps ALOT!!!

She should have been at gymnastics, but they were on break this week. Of course, I found out this after we drove all the way out there!!!

She enjoyed making a mountain and stomping it.

Swing Batter, Batter, Swing!!!

"See, I found it. It dirt!"

Day 136 - The final stretch

I can't remember where this was, besides somewhere in North Louisiana, but this was the sunset on the way home.

By this time, we were ALL tired of being in the car. The GPS was great but took us the long way home. I needed my copilot to help me figure this out earlier than when I actually did. Oh well, just another part of the adventure. It was a crazy fast trip but I am so thankful I was able to do it.

Day 135 - Sweet Times

Wallace and I moved to Dallas in Aug 2003 so he could start at Dallas Theological Seminary. For the first 2 years we met with 5 other couples weekly. We started with 12 adults and 1 kiddo. Now we have 12 adults and 16.5 kiddos. We are spread all over the world serving our Lord, Jesus. Each and everyone of them have touched our lives deeply. It took 2 yrs of planning, but a reunion was set. Everyone could attend, except my sweet man. This picture is #1 at the mall park burning energy.

Here is #3 at the mall park too. It was an amazing reunion. We all picked up as if 6 yrs had not passed. On Saturday night, we hired 3 sitters for the kids. The adults met at one location for dinner and sharing 3 highs/lows from the last 3 years. It was sweet sharing. When it was my turn, can you guess who interrupted me? Yep, from halfway around the world, my husband still interrupts me ;) It was such a God thing that he called in the middle of my share time. He called my cell and I told him to skype on the computer. Everyone was able to see him and vice versa. We even setup the camera for a group picture. It was totally cool!!! Once someone sends the picture, I will add it. HINT, HINT!!!!

Day 134 - More Valuable Lessons

Lesson #2: When you check into a hotel in a college town, ALWAYS check to see if a visiting sports team is staying there. Basketball players eat a lot of food. We hit the continental breakfast a little late.

Lesson #3: ALWAYS carry Lysol disinfectant wipes and plastic bags in your car. We hit the road around 8am on Friday morning. Not long into our trip, #1 starts yelling that #2 is throwing up!!! I am on a 12 lane interstate with no place to pull over. I was finally able to exit into downtown Tuscaloosa. Where in the world am I supposed to pull over and clean up my kid with 2 other yahoos in tow?Seriously, God led me to an old Methodist church with an adult daycare. I pulled into the small parking lot. I pulled #2 out (still in his car seat). I put my "big girl boots on" and set to work. I rang the door bell to the adult day care and sheepishly asked for plastic bags. The lady on the other side was sooo nice. Apparently, everyone inside was watching us while we entertained them. #2 and #3 played in the small parking lot while I finished my cleaning. Praise God he loves his blanket still. The poor blankie and his pants took the largest hit. The pants hit the trash and the blanket hit the bleach. Whew! I am pretty sure he was just car sick. Every so often I would point out things outside the car to divert his attention to the movie, video games, or toys. We even saw a zebra and camel in a horse trailer, a castle on the side of the road, and a giant rocket. Praise God he had put his Leapster down before all this happened!!!
On the road again.

Day 132 - Let's go on an Adventure

I picked everyone up early from school. We jumped in the van and headed to TN for the weekend. We learned several, valuable lessons. Lesson #1: Do not speed! ;) We were going to visit some dear friends from out seminary days.

This little turkey fell asleep 5 minutes before we got to the hotel. We spent the night in Tuscaloosa, Al. It was a little over halfway to our destination.

Day 131 - Trick Swings

#1 LOVES doing tricks on the swings.

She flips over backwards.

Lands.

And goes back the other way.

Finished.

The shadow of my sweet baby boy growing waaaaay too fast.

Day 130 - Workshop Day

We had Workshop Day at PWOC. A few of our ladies led workshops on crocheting, worship, Bible 101, Cajun Cooking, Cake decorating, and Photography. I forgot my camera, this seems to be a pattern.

This picture is from March 2008. We were at the 88th BSB Egg Hunt. I was pregnant with #3. Daddy got to carry the other yahoos.

Day 129 - Oh the memories

This is me and my man while he was at Chaplain's school in Fort Jackson, SC. I flew up for a weekend visit while my parents kept our 2 kiddos.
Yes, I forgot to take a picture again :)

Day 128 - Expiration

This picture does not give the volume justice. We have 2 medicine tubs. One for adults and one for kids. After all of our sickness, I decided to clean out our tubs. After all was said and done, I had one tub filled with good meds and one tub filled with expired meds. I had to dispose of half our stock and drop a good penny restocking some items I could not get at the pharmacy.

Day 127 - Birthday dinner

After a wonderfully relaxing night at home ALONE, I made it to my parents. This is what greeted me ipon my arrival.

She rode her bike by herself several times this day. Pappy got a great workout.

He started swinging all by his self. It was a day of "firsts."

These were pretty and a great sign, Spring is coming!!

It took them all day but they finally found the huge pile of leaves in the front yard.

He even covered his self with them.

We celebrated my birthday a little early. We ate at a local Japanese resturant, it was delicious.
A successful attempt with his chopsticks.

She was pretty good, too. She has been hanging out with Nana too long. Nana has the ability to close her eyes in most pictures. :)

We stopped at Splurge on the way home. It is a frozen yogurt place, but we called it ice cream. They give you these HUGE bowls and you fill it with as much yogurt and toppings you desire. You pay by the ounce. It was yummy and an easy alternative to a cake.

I think he likes it.

He added strawberries to his and didn't like it.

Yummy!
